tim grupp was born in germany.
he grew up bilingual between nyc and berlin.
at the age of 18, tim was scouted by a modeling agency, which launched him into the world of fashion and photography.
he has worked for clients such as gq france, gq uk, skims, numero magazine, tom brady, national geographic, highsnobiety etc.
from 2017 to 2019 he enrolled at the renowned ostkreuz school of photography and started assisting prestige photographers such as peter kaaden, marco justus schoeler, felix krueger, walter pfeiffer and daniella midenge. throughout his career tim has worked alongside kourtney kardashian, jessica simpson, avril lavigne, jeremy allen white etc.
tim grupp further progressed his career working in house as an art director and producer for defshop, newyorker and +beryll, handling the visualization and execution of image- & fashion campaigns, production planning involving casting and booking of models, photographers and locations, on-set direction of photographer/model/styling and hair & make-up, moodboards, internal presentations, photo selection and the overview + direction of retouchers for campaign material.
in 2023 he launched killedbyghosts. which is a creative house providing photography, art direction and production.
tim grupp is now based between berlin, germany and los angeles, california.
